Forged using layers of Willett bourbon barrel straps & pure nickel as the soft cladding to protect the high carbon steel core. This knife represents what is both a ton of fun and ton of work - fusing dissimilar alloys while finding a beautiful use for an otherwise pervasive by-product of the world of libations. The full tang handle is shaped from stabilized Georgia sourced sycamore and durable Arizona ironwood punctuated with large copper pins.

The past few years have found Will leaning into more processes and techniques. Combining dissimilar alloys is his jam right now, but if there’s one combo that stands strong in the forefront of the past three years, it is this. Stainless clad laminated carbon steel! This is the only one for the newsletter and has a full tang handle sculpted from African Blackwood end-cuts sourced from a clarinet factory in Paris and Arizona Ironwood.

Here it is. The culmination of Will’s studies with both masters, Bill Burke & Jason Knight. Bill taught Will the art of damascus while Jason has refined the integral forging process. Finished in beautiful storm-fallen red oak burl from Georgia.

Forged from Hitachi 1085 carbon steel, a scrap from the mill that makes Toyota Tacoma coil springs with a handle sculpted of rosewood gifted to Will from his chair making friend and neighbor, Eric Cannizzaro. Brass spacer. The integral bolster on this style of blade makes it an exciting forging process. For everyone of these that makes it to the website, there are two in the scrap bucket, at least until Will hones his forging.

Named after the flag that Will’s grandmother used to hang in the doorway of her kitchen when she refused to take any s*** from her children - this little number does well on your large cuts, breaking joints and subtly laying it on the counter when it’s time for guests to vacate. Forged from an antique lumber mill saw blade engineered for extreme toughness with a full tang handle sculpted from the forever durable, Arizona Ironwood. Bronze pins.
